Blog 2023: Derby City Super Sprint & Sprint Triathlon 2014 and the Junior Taster Triathlon
There will be a Sprint and Super Sprint event so whether you are new to the sport or an experienced triathlete you will find a race for you.
Junior Taster Triathlon.
100m swim - 2K bike - 1K run. The event is aimed at novice juniors that would like to try the great sport of triathlon. All you need is a bike (any will do), a helmet, trainers, swim kit and be able to swim 100m. If you are aged 8 to 15 and thinking of doing a triathlon, Tri it now! I have attached some publicity information on the Taster Triathlon.

Derby City Super Sprint & Sprint Triathlon
The swim – 200 or 400mYou will begin the event with the swim, 8 or 16 lengths of the-25m indoor heated swimming pool (any stroke is fine) and then you make your way to the transition area and prepare for the bike ride.

You will cycle through the heart of Derby, completing either one or two laps of the relatively flat out and back course.

Blog 2021: Erewash Triathlon - HELP needed
Once again we will be giving our support to the Erewash Traithlon on Sunday August 10th at West Park. We have always managed to provide volunteers to help on the day with the swimming discipline by providing the Starters and lane stewards. This is an early start 7.15am (but you will get a bacon cob and drinks).
Lane Stewards can give assistance to the swimmers by counting their laps for them and with words of encouragment (for many it will be their first Triathlon). The swimming is usually completed by 11.30am, just in time to see most of the competitors crossing the finishing line.
12 volunteers would be good - so check your diary and come to West Park and help promote Long Eaton Swimming Club.

Blog 2020: Miami update
we are looking at the possibility of moving the camp a week later so people have an easier time getting off school. We will only do this if the price isnt affected too much. So the dates will either be January 26th till 6th February or 2nd February till 13th February. Deposits of £200 need to be posted in the box by 31st August 2014. Hopefully with more campers and a bit more fund raising we can keep the price well below the estimated £1000.
Blog 2019: Kevs England debut
Long Eaton Swimmer makes his England debut later this week with the England team in Portugal. We as a club, are very proud of Kev who started in our Learn To Swim programme then followed the performance pathway through the club and into Derventio and now England. Good luck Kevin from all at LESC.

Blog 2017: Lost Property
There were several items left on poolside and in the changing rooms last night after the Club Championships including a Club jacket. These were left at the reception desk at West Park.

There are no Land Taining sessions during the summer break but swimmers are expected to turn up for pre pool and do their post pool work.

Blog 2015: Thank you
The end of the competitive calander was marked by a successful club championships.
The success of which is much to do with the time and efforts given by the host of volunteers working a range of duties before and during the weekend.
Many thanks to all involved and for those first time volunteers we hope to see you back poolside again throughout next season. For those sitting poolside willing to get involved we encourage you, if you have any questions please speak to your squad rep or email a member if the committee.
Finally a special note of thanks to Hatty for stepping in to the life guard chair on Saturday, at very short notice without this the gala would not have been able to run to conclusion yesterday.
Have a great summer to all.

Blog 2011: Northampton Open
A fantastic weekend of swimming at Corby in the Northampton Open meet saw PBs falling left right and centre. Long Eaton with only 17 swimmers at the meet came 5th club with 12 golds 8 silvers and 9 bronze medals along with a host of top six finishes (see our twitter feed for tweets on the medalist @LESCnews) for full results click on this link http://www.northamptonswimming.com/results14/NSMeet14/index.htm What was very pleasing other than the skill levels was the behaviour and professionalism of our swimmers, setting an example for any club around.The junior and age group swimmers learnt a lot of valuable lessons throughout the meet putting them in good stead for the future. #orangeandproud

Blog 1998 - Open Meets 2014/2015
We are currently putting together next seasons gala programme (we have to wait for galas to become available before we know the dates) and the first 2 open meets for next season are both on the weekend of 4/5th of October Derventio Excell level 2 meet at Matlock and Leicester Penguins level 3 meet at Braunstone. We unlike alot of clubs have an advantage as our club Championships are at the end of the season giving all swimmers an opportunity to update all their times for as many events as they can meaning we'll have faster qualifying times on the rankings database.
