Blog 2192: Land Training and Gym

Due to the Miami Camp
There will be NO Gym for Youth and Senior Prestige
Monday 2nd February, Thursday 5th February,
Monday 9th February, Thursday 12th February.

There will be no other Land Training for Youth and Senior and Prestige for the next two weeks.

Blog 2191: A Squad Training

Whilst the Miami training camp is on, all A squad sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays will be at West Park with the Youth and Seniors.

Tuesday 3^rd and Tuesday 10^th February. Session starts at 6.30pm till 8.30pm
Friday 10^th and Friday 13^th February. Session starts at 8.00pm till 9.30pm

Blog 2190: Open Meet

Great day for LESC at the open meet 152 heat PB's with another 10 final PB's, some amazing swims with novice swimmers getting lots of good experience and senior swimmers getting in great race practice putting skills under pressure in heavy training. Well done to all who swam and a massive thank you to those who made this meet as succesfull as ever.

Blog 2189: Thank You!

Once again a very  big thank you to all of you who have been helping at the Club's Open Meet today. Another great team effort has seen our 18th successful Spring Open Meet. Yes, it has been a long day  and if this was your first time helping, we hope you enjoyed the experience, learned a little about Open Meets and made some new friends.

It is always pleasing to receive such positive feed back from our visitors who assure me they will be back next year.

So to everyone who has contributed with sponsorship, raffle prizes, baking cakes and with all the other jobs that are required to get the day up and running - thank you!

We hope that after today you might decide to get involved in other areas of the Club's activities. We really do need more of you on board to continue to take the Club forward and  give all our swimmers the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Blog 2188: Vacant Posts on the Committee

There are a number of vacant positions within our club that have a significant impact on the operational stability and overall health of the club.  One such position is that of Membership Secretary.

This post has not had a permanently appointed officer for some 12 months, with the post being covered on a temporary basis.  This impacts on the sustainability of our current programme, membership growth, compliance with ASA membership requirements, responsiveness to enquires and membership satisfaction, amongst others.

We are therefore seeking volunteers to fulfil this important role.  This role is not restricted to current club members.  For instance the role could well suit anybody wishing to volunteer some spare time that would be beneficial to Long Eaton and the local community as a whole.

If you or anyone you know is interested in this role and helping the club move forward, please, in the first instance email members.lesc@hotmail.co.uk and further details will be provided.

Blog 2187: Sunday 25th January Open Meet

The warm up time for this weekends gala is 8.00am, at Queens Street Derby. Please swimmers be on poolside for 7.45am for blood flow.


Make sure you all remember your pool side shoes/flip flops, snacks, food and plenty of fluids. Remember the use of mobile phones is not permitted on poolside.


To all those who have volunteered please could we meet at the side entrance to the pool at 7.30am to have a brief meeting.  We will not have access to the pool until 7.30am and as the gala starts at 8.00am so we do not have much time to get organised.

I am now taking entries for this gala, this gala is aimed at swimmers 9 - 14. This will take place on June 28th at Beechdale Swimming Centre, Nottingham.

Times MUST be taken off the data rankings if the times do not meet the qualifying times then you will not be able to enter this meet, Times may be checked by the promoter if the meet is over subscribed.
