Blog 3125: City of Derby Open Meet

A small group of swimmers took the opportunity to start the long course season and gain vital Long Course racing experience this weekend. The swimmers focused on the process goals again as we do at the start of every cycle and executed these extremely well. The fact that swimmers were focused on processes not outcome gave them the opportunity to relax and really think how they raced. This proved to be beneficial to the swimmers as despite only being back in training for 2 weeks they achieved personal best times, regional qualifying times and just missed out on a British Champs time in Hannah Cox's case by .08. The swimmers executed the details of pre pool, warm up, warm down, hydration and nutrition professionally and the behavior was brilliant.
